SS-Pionier |
| NAME: Reinhardt Witt |
ITEM NO: D80018 |
DATE: Feb 2005 |
The sturm-pioniers (assault engineer) are combat ready units of the pionier branch. While these men mostly are pionier by branch, they could also be from individual Battalion or Regiment who are trained to perform the tasks of pionier. Usually, company or platoon strength units are attached to various Battalions or Regiments to assist them in their missions.
One of the more recognizable pieces of equipment is the “Pioniersturmgepack” (pioneer assault pack), which was issued to one out of 5 pioniers. Other tools and equipment, including the warning flags and flags carrying case, are also included.
The equipment basically remained unchanged throughout WWII. You can present Reinhardt in just about all periods during WWII by mixing and matching the uniforms provided in the set. Our impression, SS-Pionier, Reinhardt Witt is for late war setting.

WAFFEN-SS |
| NAME: Friedrich Lugwin |
ITEM NO: L20001 |
DATE: Feb 2005 |
In 1943, to coup with the growing needs of winter uniform to provide adequate warmth as well as proper camouflage protection. The Waffen SS soon develop their own version by adopting the designed from their brothers in arms. One of the versions was developed with the famous “Pea-Dot” pattern, which basic design is still in use with several countries in year 2000.
Our impression “Friedrich Lugwin” is the first from our “basic” Series. While the series name is basic, Friedrich comes complete with the M44 uniform and the complete set of winter camouflage uniform that is completely reversible to the trigger finger on the mitten. The figure in the series is also the first to have complete weathering effect to replicate the “battles harden” look. As a bonus, a teller mine with spring loaded trigger is also included.

SS-Sturmann |
| NAME: Kurt Dorr |
ITEM NO: D80016 |
DATE: Jan 2005 |
Under the doctrine of WWII German infantry tactics, the squad machine gun is the centre of operation where the rest of the squad will maneuver and try to achieve its objective under the lead of the squad machine gun fire. The Maschinengewehr 1942 or MG42 is the replacement of the MG34, first manufacture in 1942. The stamped sheet metal construction allows more rapid production to meet the growing needs in the battle field and was the infantry weapon with the fastest rate of fire in WWII.
The MG gunner of each squad is usually the most capable and experience because the rhythm of the advance is often control by the gunner.
Our impression, SS-Sturmann “Kurt Dorr” is also equipped with a P38 pistol, a binocular for his spotter, MG gunner’s kit and . At Normandy campaign, he was issued the camouflage face veil, which they have used at several ambush situations. All metal construction MG ammo links with turned brass cartilages and an all metal construction ammo can is also included. Each figure is unique because each uniform is slightly weathered by hand to replicate the field used uniform.

HANDSCHAR
SS.Rottenführer |
| NAME: Slavko Juric |
ITEM NO: D80013 |
DATE: Dec 2004 |
SS-Rottenführer Slavko Juric, 13.Waffen-Gebrigs-Division der SS "Handschar" 1942.
Handschar (a curved Turkish Scimitar) has historically been the symbol of Bosnia, therefore named by Himmler when forming of the 13 SS with men mostly from Croatia.
Their uniform are basically the same as regular SS issue with the exception of the special collar tab with the arm holding a Handschar/Scimitar over the Swastika, an Edelweiss on the right sleeves and a red-white chessboard Croatian arm shield on the left arm.
The unit received their basic training in France and were tasked with mostly anti-Partisan operations until late 1944 when the threats from Russian Red Army becomes imamate and front line combat duty were assigned.
Our impression, SS-Rottenführer Slavko Juric is from the 13.Waffen-Gebrigs-Division der SS "Handschar" (kroatische Nr.1). He is wearing the normal service version of the Fez and he is fully equipped for the anti-Partisan campaign. Slavko is the sniper of his unit and is armed with the K98 Sniper rifle w/4-power, turret mount sniper scope. Of especial interest is the Mountain troop field trousers, which is more baggy than the regular issue

| HEINRICH HIMMLER, 1900-1945), German NAZI leader, who was head of the dreaded SS (Schutzstaffel, also called the Blackshirts). Although he was pedantic, dogmatic, and dull, Himmler emerged under HITLER as second in actual power.
